Dr Marc Wei is one of our principle specialist LASIK and cataract surgeons.
He graduated from University of Queensland Medical School in 1989 and underwent specialist training in ophthalmology at Royal Brisbane, Princess Alexandra and Mater Hospitals in Brisbane culminating the Fellowship of Ophthalmology in 1998.
Upon completion of specialist training in Australia, he obtained further subspecialty training in glaucoma, cataract and paediatric ophthalmology at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children and at Kings College Hospital, London, UK.
An invitation to join Laser Sight in 2000 was accepted and LASIK refractive sub-specialty training was subsequently undertaken with Dr Peter Stewart (Australia's LASIK pioneer) in 2001. He has now completed over 4000 surgical procedures to date.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, European Society of Refractive and Cataract surgeons and the Australasian Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons and is actively involved in research and presentations at ophthalmic conferences.
Dr Wei currently lives on the Gold Coast with his family and continues to see patients in both Sydney and Brisbane.
